The helpful and pleasant bar staff
Yes. 1. 45 minute delay in food order from bar (kitchen ran out of produce, staff had to go out to shop for replacement) - staff were slow to react to this problem and there solution was to provide a free starter without consultation with customer. A simpler solution would have been to tell us that the item was now off and would we like to choose something else 2. Bedroom comfort - bed too soft and pillows cheap (foam filled, no support)
we enjoyed staying at the hotel, we was there for a wedding and it was well organised, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Relaxed, friendly, effecient staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Great continental breakfast and bar snacks. This bodes well for the restaurant though we didn't use it. Pleasant outlook from bar area and bedrooms that face in the right direction. Convenient to drive to and park with excellent access to central London (30mins) by a train service that runs through the night making it a viable option to staying in town.
Breakfast only served til 9.30am by which time the full english buffet option was a bit gruesome. The continental buffet was still great however. The grounds surrounding the hotel could be a real feature.
Very friendly and helpful staff - all made evey effort to make our stay welcome.. We held our wedding reception at the then Edgwarebury country club June 6th 1964! We stayed this time on the sad occasion of our 'Best Man's' memorial at Stanmore Golf Club.Only complaint - terrible pillows - cheap and very uncomfortable - get rid of them!!! Will rebook but only if you change them! Regards, Angus & Jacky McKillop
The staff were friendly, helpful and courtious; the food was excellent.
An advertised desert wine was not available.
The room was clean and warm and would have been fine apart from the wet carpet!
There are no drawers in the rooms therefore everything is on show or put inside the suitcase. The breakfast is grossly overpriced at £13.75 for a pretty mediocre meal. What do they do to the mushrooms?
The rooms were of a good standard, and the restaurant, food and service was excellent,
The lights in the bedroom over the tv and mirror were far too powerfull, thats the only thing that was wrong
easy going, staff did definitely try to accomodate your needs. Quite a comfortable hotel
probably the steps to the rooms. You have to be reasonably fit.
Clean, comfortable, beatiful decor, great atmosphere
Very noisey due to hosting three weddings all on the same night
Beautiful grounds and hotel very relaxing stay with children lots of outdoor space for them to explore.
Rooms not ready for two hours later than check in time, double booked our room so when we returned to it it was occupied by someone else. Wasted about two hours of our overnight stay at reception soting out these problems that were the hotels fault.
the night staff dealing with the wedding parties!
restaurant staff a bit abrupt when I enquired about breakfast!
It was a very relaxed and pleasant stay in lovely grounds and with a good vantage point for views over London.
The amenities were good, the food was lovely and the room was clean and tidy. Overall above average.
The receptionist was very slow, I had to wait over 20 minutes for her to deal with 3 other guests on check out. A colleague came to the office behind reception, but offered no support to the receptionist (there was quite a queue)!
History of the house and use as an outside film and tv location. Good bar meal. Garden setting. Cleanliness of rooms.
Traditionally, breakfast was always included in the rate in british hotels but sadly, this tradition is slowly eroding, particularly around London.
Ambience of the building, very old, good food,
TV in the bar. Not enough umbrellas on the terrace, lots of stairs and no lift
